Should a player accumulate the third yellow card during the season, and then participate in five consecutive matches without receiving any further cards or additional disciplinary measures, one yellow card will be deducted from their total, reducing it from three to two. At present, the athlete has two more chances to qualify for the "good conduct bonus" in the MLS regular season. Should this player remain unpenalized with no red or yellow cards, nor any additional sanctions, in the subsequent five matches, their total number of yellow cards would decrease by another one. Consequently, the player would hold just one yellow card and one remaining opportunity for the "good conduct bonus."
