Ira Winderman expressed his concerns: The Miami Heat's current predicament stems from a collective expectation that others will address the issues. While Davion Mitchell and Andrew Wiggins excel in defense, and Bam Adebayo and Giannis Antetokounmpo are formidable defensive forces, there's an undercurrent that suggests they perceive defense as someone else's responsibility. Basketball, by its nature, demands a cohesive defensive effort, yet the Heat's team defense has fallen short, akin to a scenario where everyone is saying, "You handle it, I'm not bothered." The only slight leniency comes from Giannis, who averages 30 points per game on offense—a stark contrast to Adebayo, who had showcased exceptional training camp performance and a strong team spirit. However, now, everyone is taking a backseat, leaving their teammates to struggle without support.
